Meet the Doctor
A native Floridian, Dr. Hilliard graduated with honors from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in 1971. He completed both a rotating dental internship in the US Public Health Service and a two year orthodontic residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Dentistry. Dr. Hilliard and his family have been active members of the Lakeland community since 1975.He has designed and patented specialty instruments that are used in the orthodontic profession both nationally and internationally. Because of his innovations, he is widely known for his continuing contributions to the improvement of the art and science of orthodontics. Making time for teaching seminars and lecturing tonational audiences as well as maintaining a successful orthodontic practice, Dr. Hilliard has also co-authored an orthodontic text, "Essix Appliance Technology: Applications, Fabrication and Rationale".
He is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontics, the Southern Association of Orthodontists, and is a past president of the (local) Polk County Dental Association.
